Mool Mantar - Ik Onkar Jis kay sira ooper tu swami National Anthem

Jis kay sira ooper tu swami - How can he who is protected by You, O Lord, suffer Pain

Suhi Mahla Panjva - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

Jis kay sira ooper tu swami so dukh kaisa pavay,
How can he who is protected by You, O Lord, suffer pain!

Bol na janay maya mada mata marna cheet na aavay,
The mortal intoxicated with the wine of wealth does not behave well with his fellow men and forgets death.

Meray Ram rai tu santa ka sant teray,
O my Supreme Lord! You belong to the saints and the saints belong to you,

Teray sewak kau bhau kuchh nahi jama nahi aavay neray.
Your servant is afraid of none, even death's messengers dare not come near him.

Jo teray rung ratay swami tin ka janam maran dukh nasa.
Those who are imbued with Your love, O Lord, overcome the pain of birth and death,

Teri bakash na maitay koi satgur ka dilasa.
O Lord none can undo Your bounties. The True Guru has offered me his consolation.

Naam dhiyayan sukh phala payan athh pahir aradhaha,
Those who meditate on the Name obtain the fruit of bliss, they remember You day and night.

Teri saran teray bharvasay punch dusht lai sadhaha,
Seeking Your protection and support, they overcome the five enemies.

Gian dhiyan kuchh karam na jana sar na jana teri,
I possess on divine knowledge, practice no meditation and virtuous deeds. I do not know your greatness.

Sabh tay vada Satgur Nanak jin kal rahi meri.
Nanak says:"My true Guru is the greatest of all who has protected my honour in this Dark Age."
